Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to begin their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for the traitor.

From episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Explorers and Schemers groups.
